Since 1976, Gateway Plumbing and Heating has built a reputation as New York City and suburban New Jersey's go-to plumbing and heating company. Dave's first plumbing experiences were as a 12-year-old riding shotgun with his father on Saturdays and school holidays, when Gateway Plumbing & Heating was a one man (and one kid) operation based in Staten Island. After a 6-year stint at a large commercial construction company where he worked in payroll, estimating, roofing, metal fabrication and, as luck would have it, plumbing - he returned to Gateway in 1991 and has been at it ever since. Dave attended St. John's University on Staten Island and the General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen (aka Mechanic's Institute) in Manhattan. He received his NYC Master Plumber's License in 1994 and his NJ Master Plumber and NYC Master Fire Suppression Contractor's Licenses in 1998. He currently lives in Maplewood with his wife and two children.

A young boy in a family business, I started working on mechanical systems by age 13. At 17, I began heating courses given by what was then the Institute of Boilers and Radiation. My tech skills grew in the field as my role in the business grew more critical to its success and I received my NYC Master Plumber's License on my first attempt in 1998. Today, with over 30 years of experience in my trade, I am the specifier of all heating products and designs for the company which I now own with my brother. My services extend from single-family residences to mid-rise NYC commercial real estate. I enjoy an exceptional reputation among my industry peers, within my customer base, and in many professional forums. My company has a stellar reputation for expertise in the field, quality workmanship and customer service. GPH is currently under contract in some of the finest and largest renovation projects in NYC and are routinely asked to stay on the jobs to provide service and maintenance.

Our staff is kept up to date with ongoing training programs both in house and off site. Our more experienced techs train the newer hires and our top technicians regularly attend factory training sessions and seminars given by manufacturers' reps. We believe training and fair wages are the key to maintaining a great staff. All new staff is carefully screened by a 3rd-party agent to ensure the person we're sending to your job is not only competent but also trustworthy.
